Meet Clarice

Clarice Liu is a physiotherapist with a special interest in hypermobility syndromes (e.g. hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS/HSD)), Long COVID, fibromyalgia, and performing arts populations.

Motivated by both personal and professional experience, Clarice recognised a gap in accessible, knowledgeable care for hypermobile individuals and those in circus and dance. This has shaped her ongoing commitment to creating more inclusive, informed and supportive healthcare for this community.

As a performing contortionist and dancer, and having explored disciplines such as handbalancing, aerial hoop, silks, hammock, pole dancing, hair hanging, and acrobatics/tricking/gymnastics, she has first-hand experience of the demands placed on hypermobile bodies, as well as the importance of appropriate training modifications.

With a professional background in movement therapy, contortion, and flexibility coaching, she has extensive experience supporting hypermobile individuals within the demands of circus arts. Her work focuses on adapting traditional training and rehabilitation approaches to better suit hypermobile bodies, supporting both artistic athletes and individuals managing persistent symptoms.

Clarice completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy, and also holds a prior degree in Economics with training in applied data analytics for healthcare research.

She takes a person-centred, collaborative approach, focusing on sustainable movement and helping patients return to the activities that matter to them.
